WOLVES WHO WANDER : INTO THE LAKE

a downside to living in sacramento for the next year is the summers.... HELLA hot would be the best way to describe them. on the plus side, the goddess lake tahoe herself is a little over an hour away.

with wedding season in full swing and mama wolf almost being a full moon within this pregnancy we had to get away to keep our sanity...so to tahoe we went.  besides a little pit stop in one of our old fave silver mining towns (virginia city) we found ourselves extremely happy with days full of early morning beach time and afternoons floating in the pool. one thing this mama wolf prides herself in is finding dope spots to call home while on vacation. this time we found the coachman hotel, a renovated motel that was absolutely perfect for our short little jaunt to the woods.

we came home entirely relaxed and ready to take on the rest of the season and a birth.

in high hopes of a couple more getaways as a family of three... we shall see.

THAT YOSEMITE KINDA LOVE

GAH!

anytime a couple wants to head out to an epic location for some dope portraits we are down.

so when nicole and erik wanted to head to yosemite (our all time favorite place) for some photos we just about shit our pants and booked a trip right away. we love to turn any job into a chance to wander.

check out this sweet love session and hit us up if you want to get away for an adventure.

WOLVES WHO WANDER : DESERT LIFE

we love turning trips into work-cations... but if we can ever get in a work-free vacation we will take it. a lot of people don't know this, but when you own your own business you are essentially always on the clock, unless you deliberately make the call to disconnect. we haven't taken one of these in over a year and it's just what the witch doctor ordered. it was a big toss up between the beach and the desert but there was something about the stillness of the desert that was calling our names... so joshua tree and palm springs it was!

joshua tree is exactly how we needed to start the trip. quiet with just enough human activity, we had an incredible time looking for treasures in yucca valley. we stepped into the past at the pioneertown motel, stargazed under the millions of stars in the sky and wandered around the magic land of joshua tree national park (an absolute must when you are anywhere close). another highlight also escaping to witch mountain for a little maternity shoot.

our next stop was palm springs...you get the energy of the city without all the traffic and pretentious tudes (sorry la, we still love you). we had the perfect welcome by arriving to a full moon (in scorpio) drum circle our first night at the ace hotel + swim club. morning adventures with pool time afternoons is exactly how we would describe our perfect day and we got three of them. between the adventures to the living desert, a runaway to salvation mountain and east jesus and getting high on the tram, we covered a lot of ground...and the ace hotel was the perfect place to call home for some serious relaxation with a lot things to still do right there if we wanted.

we couldn't have asked for a better trip. now if only we can get wolfy to sleep in his own bed again. wish us luck!

A SMALL SF CITY HALL LOVE STORY

we can't get enough of small sweet love stories like kate + mark's. they had an adorable san francisco city hall ceremony (can't go wrong with a stunning/no fuss venue like that) then had a super laid back reception with their closest friends at their favorite local spot; the stable cafe. we also love any couple that's down for taking some time out of their day to get lost in the moment while we capture some epic portraits.

could not have done it without all the dope vendors listed below.
