WOLVES WHO WANDER : YOSEMITE, MONO LAKE, BODIE, CA

here we are…finally jumping back into a little journaling not only on the stunning weddings that we’ve been a part of but also the journeys we love to take with our kiddos. we feel so lucky that our clients share so much of themselves with us that it is important to share our journey with you all, as well. there is a lot to catch you up on but we will start with our latest trip to yosemite.

we travel a lot for work and usually bring our pack with us . but its exceedingly rare for us to go on a work-free trip as a family. by november, we are always a little frazzled and exhausted. shooting season winding down and delivery season in full swing. so we decided to escape to one of our favorite places to tap back into the universe and re-center our souls…YOSEMITE! this trip was a little different than usual. instead of hiking backpacks we brought our bikes and decided to keep things really chill.

we started in the south entrance at the mariposa grove which was extremely special since we haven’t been since our wedding weekend due to closures and renovations. then we went to dinner at the wawona for a little ode to our wedding reception, then slowly made our way into the valley. little did we know it would not only be super quiet from off season but lit by the full moon. the next day we took our time biking, hiking and picnicking around the valley then finished up the night watching the full moon rise at glacier point. on our last full day we decided to head out of the park to mono lake then north to the ghost town of bodie. worth every minute of the drive. a place like no other.

it was just the trip we needed. always remember to give yourself time to turn off and reconnect with nature. we couldn’t be more thankful that our children are so adventurous and always up for the adventure, especially to the outdoors.

THAT YOSEMITE KINDA LOVE

GAH!

anytime a couple wants to head out to an epic location for some dope portraits we are down.

so when nicole and erik wanted to head to yosemite (our all time favorite place) for some photos we just about shit our pants and booked a trip right away. we love to turn any job into a chance to wander.

check out this sweet love session and hit us up if you want to get away for an adventure.

WOLVES WHO WANDER : YOSEMITE...

wedding season is an interesting one for families in the industry... days are not consistent and weekends are non existent.  it is bittersweet where we get in a lot of face time with our son day to day but then have very long days/weekends/weeks away. so we make it a point to clump our days together as much as possible and head out on epic explorations as a family whenever we get the chance.

our first adventure of this season brought us to one of our favorite places, yosemite national park. we had an engagement session in the valley and took that as a perfect excuse to tag on a little family time. not sure if you know but we got hitched down in the valley four years ago this coming june. to say yosemite holds a special place in our hearts is an understatement and to see our little wolf pup explore here is an incredible dream. this is asher's third trip to the park. but this time it is as if it's an entirely new experience through his toddler eyes. also a very special trip having our little lake stone growing in mama wolf's belly. we are so lucky this kid loves the outdoors and adventure as much as we do (now if only we can get him to like his car seat just a tiny bit more... ah). we will take what we can get. if you ever have any questions on what to do, see, explore in this magic place, we would love to drop some knowledge.

thank you for all of your magic and glory, yosemite. you are a fucking gem.

Yosemite Winter 2015

seeing yosemite in the winter blew my freaking mind.

it's a completely different park from all the other seasons. ash and i got married in the valley in june 2013, so returning with our son 2.5 years later was a wild experience. we also traveled there with ash's parents. sharing a place like yosemite with the people you love makes it all the more enjoyable. they were really patient while i ran around taking photos and geeking out on nature. i even had the pleasure of snapping some polaroids on my old 250.

enjoy!
